Leather:
HORSE BUTT leather is used, 2.5 to 2.8 mm thick.
Located in the Santa Croce sull'Arno region of Tuscany, Italy
This horse leather is manufactured by MARYAM.
The horse's butt, which has a high fiber density, is tanned with vegetable tannins, dyed a brown base, and then the surface is painted with black pigment to create what is commonly known as brown core leather.
Because it is made from wild horse leather from Europe, it has scratches and wrinkles called tiger marks.
The wild-looking part and the area around the buttocks are made of cordovan.
The fibre density is high, so you can expect subtle creases when worn.
Horse bats have different expressions depending on the part, and each one may have some scratches, but we believe you will understand that this is what makes them unique.
Aging image:
As you wear them, the brown core inside will interact with the black surface and the brown color will age into an antique black color.

Last :
Based on the 1940s US NAVY service shoes, ARCHIVE TOKYO has fine-tuned the swing, toe, and instep height of the foot shape to create an original last [SV100] that is carved to fit the Japanese foot shape.
Process:
Goodyear welt construction
It is said to have originated in the late 1870s when Charles Goodyear Jr. invented a mechanical manufacturing method based on the hand-sewn welt method, using a lockstitch machine. Today, it is famous as a representative manufacturing method in the UK. It is also an essential method for making authentic shoes in Japan.
This manufacturing method has several features.
- Excellent durability and water resistance: The intricate stitching provides durability, and the shoe has a structure that has no gaps from the inside to the outside, making it also suitable for water resistance.
- A comfortable fit that becomes more comfortable with each wear. With this manufacturing method, the insole is packed with plenty of cork, so the cork sinks in with each step you take, and conforms to the shape of the wearer's sole.
This means that even ready-made shoes will fit comfortably to your feet.
The upper and outsole are not directly sewn together, so the sole can be easily removed and repaired. As long as you take good care of the upper, you can wear it almost forever.
The lace used is made of waxed cotton.

Design Details:
The shoe has an open lacing system, where the shoelace is passed through a wing that is sewn over the instep. It is easy to put on and take off because it opens and closes easily, and it is also easy to adjust the size. The 5 holes and 3 hooks make it easy to open and close.
The triple-stitched upper gives these ankle boots a classic, rugged look.
Each part is cut off so that the tea core is visible, bringing out the best in the horse bat.
The lining is made of soft horse leather, which is perfectly matched with the firm upper leather.
The heel height is 3cm, which is slightly high and designed with comfort in mind.

Single welt design: The sole has stitching from the toe to the sole edge, and no stitching from the heel to the sole edge for a clean look. This design balances the hard look of the boots with the stylish look of the single welt.
Brown welt and natural colored overstitching.
The heel seam is reinforced by covering it with separate parts on both sides. This reduces the stress on the seams.

The ankle area is made from a single piece of fabric, making them easy to get used to and wear quickly.

The ARCHIVETOKYO arch design is engraved in gold leaf.
The mark is designed as a classic one, inspired by the arch of the foot.

Outsole:
US VIBRAM #700
The chevron patterned sole makes it perfect for use on asphalt.
Because it is oil resistant, it is often used in engineer and work boots.
The rubber sole is designed to be slightly softer in hardness, providing good grip and making it comfortable to wear.
